Joachim Kühn is a German jazz pianist born in Leipzig. A musical prodigy, he debuted as a concert pianist after studying classical music and composition. In the mid-1960s, he became a professional jazz musician and has since been a prominent figure in contemporary jazz. His 2025 album "Échappée" is a double solo piano album recorded at his studio in Ibiza. Kühn is known for his duo with Ornette Coleman and has also collaborated with his brother, clarinetist Rolf Kühn. His music spans the genres of jazz and avant-garde jazz.
