Johnny Burnette was an American singer and songwriter born in Memphis, Tennessee. Along with his brother Dorsey and Paul Burlison, he formed the Rock and Roll Trio in 1952, known as a pioneer of the rockabilly genre. Their 1956 debut album, "Johnny Burnette and the Rock 'n Roll Trio," is considered a classic of the genre. Among his most notable hits are "Dreamin'" and "You're Sixteen." Burnette tragically died in a boating accident in 1964.
