Joonas Ahonen is a Finnish pianist renowned for his interpretations of contemporary classical music. In 2003, he premiered Arto Koskinen's "Fuga Indiana" at the Helsinki Festival. In 2024, he recorded this work for the Alpha label. Ahonen has also collaborated with violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja on the album "Le Monde selon George Antheil." His repertoire includes works by Ligeti and other contemporary composers. Ahonen is considered one of the leading Finnish pianists of his generation.
