Josh Johnson is an American saxophonist, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. His second solo album, "Unusual Object," was released in 2024 by Northern Spy Records. His previous album, "Freedom Exercise" from 2020, was featured in Rolling Stone's Best Music of 2020. Johnson has collaborated with artists such as Jeff Parker, Makaya McCraven, and Meshell Ndegeocello. Between 2018 and 2022, he served as the musical director for Leon Bridges. In 2023, he produced Meshell Ndegeocello's album "The Omnichord Real Book," which won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Jazz Album in 2024.
