Kassé Mady Diabaté was a Malian singer and griot, born in 1949 in Kela, Mali. He hailed from a prominent griot family and was renowned for his soft voice with deep undertones, earning him the nickname "The golden voice of Mali". Throughout his career, he collaborated with artists such as Toumani Diabaté and Taj Mahal. His notable albums include "Fodé" (1989), "Kela Tradition" (1990), "Kassi Kasse" (2002), and "Kiriké" (2014). In 2003, he was nominated for the BBC Radio 3 Awards for World Music.
