Kevin Hays is an American jazz pianist and composer who began performing in New York while still in high school. He has released over twenty albums as a leader or co-leader, including three each for SteepleChase and Blue Note Records. He led a long-standing trio with bassist Doug Weiss and drummer Bill Stewart and has also sung with his New Day Trio, featuring bassist Rob Jost and drummer Greg Joseph. Hays won a GRAMMY Award for his collaboration on the "Steve Gadd Band" album in the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album category. His 2015 album "New Day" showcases an eclectic mix with the New Day Trio and special guests Gregoire Maret and Tony Scherr.
