Lajos Dudas is a Hungarian-German jazz clarinetist and composer. He studied at the Béla Bartók Conservatory and the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. Throughout his career, he has performed as a jazz and rock musician, as well as a classical soloist, interpreting works such as Carl Maria von Weber's Clarinet Quintet, Igor Stravinsky's solo pieces for clarinet, and Alexander Glazunov's Concerto for Alto Saxophone. In 1982, he gained international recognition for his composition "Urban Blues" at the 11th International Jazz Competition in Monaco. Dudas has collaborated with musicians like Karl Berger, Gerd Dudek, Albert Mangelsdorff, and Attila Zoller. He has released over 60 recordings and performed at major European festivals.
