Lamont Dozier was an American singer, songwriter, and producer, best known as a member of the songwriting and production team Holland-Dozier-Holland. Born on June 16, 1941, in Detroit, he passed away on August 8, 2022. Alongside Brian and Eddie Holland, he crafted numerous hits for artists like The Supremes, The Four Tops, and Martha and the Vandellas. Their notable songs include "Baby Love," "You Can't Hurry Love," and "Reach Out I'll Be There." After leaving Motown in 1968, Dozier pursued a solo career and collaborated with artists such as Phil Collins, co-writing "Two Hearts." In 1990, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
