Lars Vogt was a German pianist and conductor, born in Düren. He studied under Karl-Heinz Kämmerling in Hanover. In 1990, he won second place at the Leeds International Piano Competition, gaining international recognition. In 1997, he founded the Spannungen chamber music festival in Heimbach. In 2015, he became the music director of the Royal Northern Sinfonia, and in 2020, the chief conductor of the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris. His discography includes recordings of works by Beethoven, Schumann, and Brahms. He collaborated with artists such as Christian Tetzlaff and Sabine Meyer. He passed away on September 5, 2022.
