Originally composed of the principal string players of the Gewandhaus Orchestra, the quartet is renowned for its rich and precise sound, as well as its extensive repertoire ranging from Mozart to Cage. They have released over 60 recordings and have received awards such as the Diapason d'Or and ECHO Klassik. The quartet regularly performs at international festivals and concert halls worldwide.
