Lemmy Kilmister was a British musician, known as the founder, lead vocalist, bassist, and primary songwriter of the band Motörhead, which he established in 1975. Prior to that, he was a member of Hawkwind from 1971 to 1975. Motörhead released 22 studio albums, including the 1980 album "Ace of Spades." The band won a Grammy Award in 2005 for Best Metal Performance with their cover of Metallica's "Whiplash." Lemmy was recognized for his unique bass playing style and distinctive gravelly voice. He collaborated with various artists and was regarded as a significant figure in heavy metal music.
