Leonkoro Quartet is a German string quartet founded in 2019 in Berlin. The name "Leonkoro" means "lion heart" in Esperanto. The quartet comprises brothers Jonathan Schwarz (first violin) and Lucas Schwarz (cello), Amelie Varner (second violin), and Mayu Chikami (viola). In 2022, they won first place at both the Wigmore Hall String Quartet Competition and the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition. Their debut album, "Ravel & Schumann: String Quartets," was released in September 2023 under the Mirare label and features Ravel's String Quartet in F major and Schumann's String Quartet in A major, Op. 41 No. 3.
