Linton Kwesi Johnson is a Jamaican-British dub poet and activist, known for his poetry in Jamaican patois accompanied by dub-reggae music. His notable albums include "Dread Beat an' Blood" (1978), "Forces of Victory" (1979), and "Bass Culture" (1980). Johnson frequently collaborated with producer Dennis Bovell, and his work focuses on the experiences of Afro-Caribbeans in Britain. In 2002, he became the second living poet to have his work published in the Penguin Modern Classics series.
