Lori Vambe is a Zimbabwean-British experimental percussionist and instrument maker, known for his self-crafted instrument, the drumgita. In 1982, he released two albums, "Drumgita Solo" and "Drumland Dreamland," which were reissued in 2023 under the title "Space-Time Dreamtime." Vambe was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, and moved to London in 1959, where he became involved in the Brixton squat movement during the 1970s. His music combines layered drums with the rhythmic sounds of the drumgita, utilizing tape effects and temporal shifts to explore space and time.
