Luciano Pavarotti was an Italian operatic tenor known for his performances in bel canto operas. He debuted in 1961 as Rodolfo in "La Bohème" and performed at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1968. He was a member of "The Three Tenors" with Plácido Domingo and José Carreras. His notable roles included the Duke in "Rigoletto" and Radamès in "Aida". He won five Grammy Awards and received the Kennedy Center Honor in 2001.
