Mark Fosson was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his "American primitive" style. Born in Ashland, Kentucky, he sent demo recordings to John Fahey's Takoma Records in the 1970s, leading to a recording contract. Although the label soon folded, Fosson continued his musical career, collaborating with Edward Tree and forming the band The Bum Steers. Notable albums include "The Lost Takoma Sessions" (2006), "Digging in the Dust: Home Recordings 1976" (2012), "kY" (2015), and "Solo Guitar" (2017).
