Markus Poschner is a German conductor and pianist, born in Munich. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München under Hermann Michael and was influenced by mentors such as Sir Roger Norrington and Sir Colin Davis. Since 2017, he has been the chief conductor of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, and since 2015, the chief conductor of the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana. In 2018, he received the International Classical Music Award (ICMA) for his recording of the complete Brahms symphonies with the Swiss orchestra. In 2024, he received a special ICMA award for his cycle of the complete Bruckner symphonies with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien.
