Matteo Pastorino is an Italian clarinetist born in 1989 in Sardinia. He released his first album, "V," in 2014, followed by "Suite for Modigliani" in 2017, inspired by Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani and featuring New York guitarist Gilad Hekselman. In March 2025, he released "LightSide" with pianist Domenico Sanna, bassist Dario Deidda, and drummer Armando Luongo. Pastorino began playing the clarinet self-taught at age 13 and later studied at the Paris Conservatory, graduating in 2012 with highest honors. He has collaborated with artists such as Paolo Fresu, Joe Sanders, and David Linx. In 2016, he founded the San Teodoro Jazz Festival in Sardinia.
