Mel & Kim were a British pop duo consisting of sisters Melanie and Kim Appleby. Formed in 1986, they quickly rose to fame through their collaboration with the production trio Stock Aitken Waterman. Their debut single, "Showing Out (Get Fresh at the Weekend)," achieved success on European charts. This was followed by the hit "Respectable," which reached number one in the United Kingdom. Their sole studio album, "F.L.M.," included other successful tracks like "F.L.M." and "That's the Way It Is." After Melanie Appleby's untimely death in 1990, Kim Appleby pursued a solo career.
