Meshuggah is a Swedish extreme metal band formed in Umeå in 1987. The current lineup consists of Jens Kidman (vocals), Fredrik Thordendal (lead guitar), Mårten Hagström (rhythm guitar), Tomas Haake (drums), and Dick Lövgren (bass guitar). The band is known for their complex polymetric structures and polyrhythms. Notable albums include "Destroy Erase Improve" (1995), "obZen" (2008), and "Immutable" (2022). Meshuggah has been nominated for two Swedish Grammis Awards and, in 2018, for a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for the song "Clockworks".
