Michael Alexander Willens is an American conductor and artistic director of the Kölner Akademie, an ensemble specializing in historically informed performances of music from the Baroque to the contemporary era. He studied at the Juilliard School of Music, and under his leadership, the ensemble has recorded numerous albums, including "Vienna Mandolin Stories" with mandolinist Alon Sariel, featuring works by Mozart, Haydn, and Paisiello.
