Mickey Baker was an American guitarist known for his work in R&B, jazz, and rock. In the 1950s, he was a sought-after session musician, recording with artists like Ruth Brown, Ray Charles, and The Drifters. In 1956, he formed the duo Mickey & Sylvia with Sylvia Robinson, whose hit "Love Is Strange" reached number one on the R&B chart. Baker released several solo albums, including "The Wildest Guitar" (1959) and "Blues and Jazz Guitar" (1977). In the 1960s, he moved to France, where he continued recording and performing.
