Monkey is a musical project by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, known from the band Gorillaz. In 2007, they created the opera "Journey to the West," inspired by the Chinese classic novel of the same name. The music combines Western and Chinese instruments and was recorded in London and Beijing. The album "Journey to the West" was released in 2008 and reached number five on the UK Albums Chart.
