Moondog, born Louis Thomas Hardin, was an American composer and musician renowned for his unique blend of classical, avant-garde, and jazz music. Blinded at the age of 16, he moved to New York City, where he became known as "the Viking of 6th Avenue." His notable works include the albums "Moondog" (1969) and "Elpmas" (1992). His rhythmic and contrapuntal compositions influenced minimalist composers such as Philip Glass and Steve Reich. Moondog also invented several musical instruments, including the trimba.
