Mother is a Belgian post-metal band from Oostende, formed in 2017. The group consists of brothers Tuur and Toon Soete and bassist Lynn Claus. Their debut album, "I," was originally released in 2020 and later reissued in December 2021 under the Consouling Sounds label. In November 2021, they released the EP "Interlude I." Their music blends elements of post-metal and blackgaze, focusing on atmospheric and emotive compositions. The band is known for its intention to narrate a story about an unconventional mother-child relationship through a series of albums and EPs.
