Muriel Rochat Rienth is a Swiss recorder player born in Basel. She studied at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis under Michel Piguet, earning a soloist diploma. She is the founder and director of the baroque ensemble La Tempesta Basel, with which she received the Swiss ORPHEUS prize. She has performed at festivals in Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Belgium, and Spain. She recorded the complete recorder sonatas by Händel and Telemann for the Spanish label VANITAS. She teaches at the Conservatoire de Fribourg.
