Nawang Khechog is a Tibetan flutist and composer who was born in Tibet and emigrated to India following the Chinese invasion of 1949/1950. He spent 11 years as a monk, including four years as a hermit in the Himalayan foothills under the guidance of the Dalai Lama. A self-taught flutist, he gained recognition through collaborations with Kitaro on the albums 'Enchanted Evening' and 'Mandala'. His notable albums include 'Karuna' (1995), 'Tibetan Meditation Music' (2007), and 'Universal Love' (2003). His music blends traditional Tibetan instruments with elements of ambient and world music.
