New Order is an English rock band formed in Salford in 1980 by former Joy Division members Bernard Sumner (vocals, guitar), Stephen Morris (drums), and Peter Hook (bass). Keyboardist Gillian Gilbert later joined the group. They are known for blending post-punk, electronic, and dance music, with their 1983 single "Blue Monday" considered the best-selling 12-inch single of all time. Notable albums include "Power, Corruption & Lies" (1983) and "Technique" (1989). After Hook's departure in 2007, they continued with new members.
