Nick Mason is an English drummer and founding member of the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. In 1981, he released his first solo album, "Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports," recorded in October 1979 at Grog Kill Studio in New York. The album was a collaboration with American jazz composer Carla Bley, who wrote all the tracks. Vocals were provided by Robert Wyatt, formerly of Soft Machine. The album blends elements of jazz-rock and progressive rock and was released under the Harvest label in the UK and Columbia in the US.
