Nickel Creek is an American progressive acoustic trio formed in 1989, consisting of Chris Thile (mandolin), Sara Watkins (fiddle), and Sean Watkins (guitar). The band released six albums between 1993 and 2023, with their 2002 album "This Side" winning a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album. Their music blends elements of bluegrass, folk, country, and rock. After a hiatus from 2007 to 2014, they returned with the album "A Dotted Line" and released "Celebrants" in 2023. Throughout their career, they have collaborated with artists such as Alison Krauss and Dolly Parton.
