Novos Baianos is a Brazilian musical group formed in the late 1960s in Bahia. Their second album, "Acabou Chorare" from 1972, is considered one of the most significant in Brazilian music history. The band blended various genres, including samba, bossa nova, frevo, baião, choro, afoxé, ijexá, and rock 'n' roll, influencing MPB and Brazilian rock in the 1970s. The original lineup included Moraes Moreira, Baby do Brasil, Pepeu Gomes, Paulinho Boca de Cantor, Jorginho Gomes, Bola, Baxinho, Dadi, and Luiz Galvão. The group was active from 1969 to 1979 and later reunited in 1990, 1996, 2015, and 2023.
