Ophélie Gaillard is a French cellist renowned for her versatility and deep engagement with diverse musical genres. She studied at the Conservatoire de Paris, earning three first prizes in chamber music, cello, and baroque cello. In 2003, she was honored as "Revelation: Solo Instrumentalist of the Year" at the Victoires de la Musique Classique. Gaillard has recorded over thirty albums, including complete works of Bach, Britten, Schumann, and Fauré. In 2005, she founded the Pulcinella Orchestra, specializing in Baroque music performed on period instruments. She plays a 1737 Francesco Goffriller cello, generously loaned by the CIC.
