Opus 5 is a Canadian jazz ensemble formed in 2010 in Montreal. The group consists of saxophonist Jean-Pierre Zanella, trumpeter Lex French, pianist Jonathan Cayer, bassist Alain Bédard, and drummer Louis-Vincent Hamel. Their debut album, "Introducing Opus 5," was released in 2011 to positive reviews. This was followed by "Pentasonic" (2012) and "Swing on This" (2014). Opus 5 is known for its modern approach to jazz music, drawing from both traditional and contemporary influences.
