Paul Butterfield was an American singer and harmonica player known for his contributions to popularizing Chicago blues. In 1965, he founded the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, which blended blues with rock and jazz. Their debut album, 'The Paul Butterfield Blues Band', and the follow-up 'East-West' are considered seminal recordings in the blues rock genre. Butterfield collaborated with notable musicians such as Muddy Waters and Bob Dylan. In 2015, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
