Pelican is an American post-metal band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2001. The band is known for their atmospheric and largely instrumental style. They have released seven studio albums, including "Australasia" (2003), "The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw" (2005), and "Flickering Resonance" (2025). Their music combines elements of post-metal and doom metal. In 2022, original guitarist Laurent Schroeder-Lebec returned to the band following the departure of Dallas Thomas. The band is known for their long tracks and dense melodies, creating a unique sonic landscape.
