Pier Paolo Pozzi is an Italian drummer and composer born in 1964. Between 1983 and 1986, he studied at Rome's prestigious Popular School of Music of Testaccio. In 1986 and 1987, he attended summer clinics at the Berklee School of Music, studying with Jimmy Cobb and Tommy Campbell, and performed with the Berklee Big Band at the Umbria Jazz '87 festival. In 1993, he moved to Paris, leading several bands including the P.P.Pozzi Trio and Quartet. In May 1998, he replaced Lewis Nash in the Tommy Flanagan Trio for a week-long performance at Paris's All Jazz Club. In 1998, he released the album "Greetings From..." featuring guest musicians such as Paolo Fresu, Fabio Zeppetella, and Jean-Jacques Avenel.
