Placebo is a British alternative rock band formed in London in 1994 by Brian Molko (vocals, guitar) and Stefan Olsdal (bass guitar, guitar). Their debut album, 'Placebo' (1996), featured the single 'Nancy Boy', which achieved success on the UK charts. This was followed by albums 'Without You I'm Nothing' (1998), 'Black Market Music' (2000), and 'Sleeping with Ghosts' (2003). The band has collaborated with artists such as David Bowie and Michael Stipe. In 2009, they released 'Battle for the Sun', which reached number one in several European countries.
