In 2019, they signed with British label Bella Union and released their debut album "Birthday". Their second album "Cheater" in 2021 received critical acclaim. In 2024, they released their third album "Champion". Pom Poko's music is known for blending indie rock, art rock, and post-punk, with their sound influenced by genres like K-pop and hyperpop. The band's name is inspired by the 1994 Japanese animated film "Pom Poko".
