Ragana is an American black metal duo from Olympia, Washington, formed in 2011. In 2014, they relocated to Oakland, California, and in 2024, both members returned to Olympia. The duo is known for their "queer antifascist black metal/doom" style. Drowse is the project of Kyle Bates, specializing in moody, glacial drone music. In 2025, Ragana and Drowse collaborated on the album "Ash Souvenir," which was originally premiered at the Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Netherlands, and later recorded at the Unknown studio in Anacortes, Washington. The album combines Ragana's heavy, emotionally charged metal with Drowse's textural approach to sound.
