Rory Block is an American blues guitarist and singer, recognized as a prominent exponent of the country blues style. Born in Princeton, New Jersey, she grew up in Manhattan. In the 1960s, she met blues legends such as Mississippi John Hurt and Reverend Gary Davis, influencing her musical style. Notable albums include "High Heeled Blues" (1981), "Blue Horizon" (1983), and "The Lady and Mr. Johnson" (2006). In 2024, she released "Positively 4th Street," a tribute to Bob Dylan. Throughout her career, she has won seven Blues Music Awards, including "Acoustic Blues Album of the Year" in 1996, 1999, and 2007.
