Scrapper Blackwell was an American blues guitarist and singer, best known for his collaboration with pianist Leroy Carr in the 1920s and 1930s. Together, they recorded over 100 songs, including the 1928 hit "How Long, How Long Blues." Blackwell was renowned for his distinctive guitar playing style, which influenced many later blues musicians. After Carr's death in 1935, he withdrew from the music scene but returned in the 1960s to record albums such as "Blues Before Sunrise" and "Mr. Scrapper's Blues."
