Sigurdur Flosason is an Icelandic jazz saxophonist who completed a solo performance degree in classical saxophone at the Reykjavik Music Academy in 1983. He subsequently earned bachelor's and master's degrees in classical saxophone and jazz from Indiana University in 1986 and 1988. Flosason is known for his collaborations with Danish musicians, including albums like "Nightfall" and "The Eleventh Hour". His 2019 album "Here and Now" features collaboration with Luxembourgish jazz musicians Michel Reis, Marc Demuth, and Jeff Herr. Flosason's music is characterized by lyrical melodies and improvisation, with his work also encompassing compositions inspired by Icelandic poetry.
