Simon Purcell is a British jazz pianist, composer, and educator. He gained prominence in the 1980s with his band Jazz Train and collaborated with artists such as Red Rodney, Kenny Wheeler, and Eddie Henderson. In 2014, he released his debut album "Red Circle" featuring musicians Julian Siegel, Chris Batchelor, Steve Watts, and Gene Calderazzo. Purcell is also a respected educator, having served as Head of Jazz at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and later as International Professor of Improvisation at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
