Sister Sledge is an American vocal group from Philadelphia, consisting of sisters Debbie, Joni, Kim, and Kathy Sledge. The group achieved international success in 1979 with the album "We Are Family," which included hits "He's the Greatest Dancer" and "We Are Family." Their music encompasses R&B, disco, and soul genres. In 1985, they reached number one on the UK Singles Chart with "Frankie." After Kathy's departure in 1989, the remaining sisters continued recording and performing. In 2015, they performed for Pope Francis at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia. Following Joni's death in 2017, Debbie continues with Sister Sledge ft. Sledgendary alongside other family members.
