Sólstafir is an Icelandic post-metal band formed in 1995. The current lineup consists of Aðalbjörn "Addi" Tryggvason (guitar, vocals), Sæþór Maríus "Pjúddi" Sæþórsson (guitar), Svavar "Svabbi" Austmann (bass), and Hallgrímur Jón "Grimsi" Hallgrímsson (drums, backing vocals). Initially starting as a black metal band, they later expanded their sound to include elements of post-rock and atmospheric metal. Notable albums include "Masterpiece of Bitterness" (2005), "Köld" (2009), and "Ótta" (2014). In 2020, they released "Endless Twilight of Codependent Love," which won the "Rock Album of the Year" award at the Icelandic Music Awards. In 2024, they released the album "Hin helga kvöl."
