Sonar is a Belgian musical group that combines power noise, techno, and industrial music. The band was formed in 1996 as a side project of noise artist Dirk Ivens, who had previously been involved with Dive and Absolute Body Control. Later, Eric Van Wonterghem, with whom Ivens collaborated in Absolute Body Control, joined the project. Sonar is known for its energetic live performances and has released several albums, including "Overdose Simulation" (1998), "Remote Assault" (2000), and "Volt Control" (2003).
