Sonata Arctica is a Finnish power metal band from Kemi, formed in 1995. Initially known as Tricky Beans, they later changed their name to Tricky Means and finally to Sonata Arctica when they shifted to power metal. The current lineup consists of vocalist Tony Kakko, guitarist Elias Viljanen, bassist Pasi Kauppinen, keyboardist Henrik Klingenberg, and drummer Tommy Portimo. The band has released eleven studio albums, including "Ecliptica" (1999), "Silence" (2001), "Winterheart's Guild" (2003), and "Reckoning Night" (2004). Their music is characterized by melodic keyboard lines and fast guitar riffs, and they have frequently collaborated with bands like Stratovarius and Nightwish.
