Sonny & Cher were an American pop duo consisting of husband and wife Sonny Bono and Cher. They began their career in the mid-1960s as R&B backing singers for producer Phil Spector. In 1965, they achieved international success with hits "I Got You Babe" and "Baby Don't Go". Their debut album, "Look at Us", reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart. Throughout their career, they released five studio albums and sold over 40 million records worldwide. In the 1970s, they hosted the popular television show "The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour".
