Sons of Kemet was a British jazz band formed in 2011 in London. The group consisted of Shabaka Hutchings (saxophone, clarinet), Tom Skinner (drums), Theon Cross (tuba), and Eddie Hick (drums). Their music blended jazz, afrobeat, and world music. They released their debut album "Burn" in 2013, followed by "Lest We Forget What We Came Here to Do" (2015), "Your Queen Is a Reptile" (2018), and "Black to the Future" (2021). In 2013, they won the MOBO Award for Best Jazz Act. The band disbanded in 2022. The products available from the artist Sons of Kemet include CDs, vinyls.
