Spike in Vain was an American punk band from Cleveland, Ohio, active between 1982 and 1985. The group consisted of Robert Griffin, Andrew Marec, and Chris Marec, who alternated on vocals, guitar, and bass, along with drummers Bruce Allen (1982–1984) and Scott Pickering (1984–1985). Their 1984 debut album, "Disease Is Relative," is noted for its unique blend of punk, hardcore, and alternative rock. During their brief existence, they also recorded "Death Drives a Cadillac" and "Jesus Was Born in a Mobile Home."
